In recent years, there has been increasing interest in developing innovative materials and treatment strategies to improve wound healing outcomes, particularly for chronic wounds and antimicrobial resistance. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) represent a promising class of next-generation wound healing and dressing materials. They also have stimulus responsiveness and can be used for photothermal therapy for skin cancer and infections. This article provides a critical analysis of the current research status of MOFs and MOF based composite materials for wound healing and dressings, offering valuable insights into the potential applications, challenges, and future directions in this field.
